A useful exercise looking at Sony and their approach to marketing and advertising.

I want you to do research on Sony throughout this lesson and then feedback to the class via the website at the end of the lesson.

Sony has set out to captivate the advertising world once again with a new commercial designed to showcase the capabilities of its range of Handycam and Cyber-shot products.

Shot in Miami, Florida, the advert, entitled ‘Foam City’, involves the Downtown area of the city being transformed into a foam-filled wonderland – with whole streets filled with foam and bubbles.

The world’s largest foam machine was built especially for the ad with over two million litres of foam being produced every minute.

What you will do:

You will write a ½ page summary of Sony’s approach to marketing:

• What is Sony’s approach to pricing?
• What is Sony’s approach to product development?
• What do you think about Sony’s methods of promotion?
• What about where Sony choose to sell their products?

Suitable searches that I want you to read and summarise:
