Welcome from the Headteacher
Christ’s College Finchley is a happy school and a stimulating place to learn. It is
also a school with high levels of achievement at every Key Stage. We welcome your
interest in us and hope that the information on this website will give you a flavour of life here.
We are very proud of our long history stretching back to 1857, but we are also forward looking, embracing the modern world as a specialist school for mathematics and computing. We are non-selective and have no religious affiliation. Christ’s College Finchley is an inclusive school and everyone working here is strongly committed to the welfare and safeguarding of our students. Securing a high level of achievement for every individual one of them is our major stated aim.
There are 750 boys aged 11-16 and over 200 students of both sexes in the Sixth Form who work in productive partnership with well qualified and committed staff, hardworking governors and supportive parents.
We work with energy, drive and commitment to secure high standards for all of our students, whatever their ability, talent, or strength. Our belief is that striving for excellence in an inspiring environment leads to success. We also believe that excellence and success should be celebrated. Our Rewards System is specifically designed to enable us to achieve that. With a strongly supportive pastoral and learning management system we are able to bring out the best in every student. As a result they develop their talents, interests and involvement in school life.
We are pleased to say that we are popular with both students and parents and always over-subscribed. We have long been well respected within the local community and our students are proud of their school. Learning experiences outside the classroom are always encouraged and backed by our commitment to forge new links with businesses, other schools and organisations in the local community. Whether they go on to further education (as most do) or enter the world of work, we are confident that our students are well equipped to embark on worthwhile and productive careers.
