What areas are available?
Christ’s College Finchley is a long established boys secondary school catering for 970 pupils, including girls in the 6th Form. The premises are large and modern and we can accommodate the needs of most groups.
The Priestley Sports Hall is suitable for 5-a-side football, indoor cricket practice (2 nets), badminton (3 courts), volleyball, basketball (1 large, or 3 small courts) and many other sports. Dimensions: 26m x 15m.
The Gymnasium is marked with volleyball, basketball and 2 badminton courts. Dimensions: 18m x 15m.
Spacious changing rooms and shower facilities are available. Please note, the school does not generally provide sports equipment apart from goals and volleyball posts.
The school also has several large playgrounds marked for tennis, as well as a field with a soccer pitch in winter and running track in summer.
The Drama Hall is our main school hall. It is carpeted and air-conditioned, with a stage and lighting. Measuring 18m x 12m it is suitable for up to 250 people, seated.
The Dining Hall is adjacent to the Drama Hall, but on a higher level and there is a removable screen between the two rooms. The room can seat 150 people. Dimensions: 20m x 15m. The Drama Hall and Dining Hall can be hired separately or as a pair.
The school kitchen may be hired in advance for warming or serving food.
Small Groups
Classrooms are available for small groups or meetings. Although our specialist rooms (laboratories and workshops) are not available to let, as a specialist Mathematics and Computing College we do hire computer rooms to recognised community groups.
How to Book
Please call Tricia Clark or Julie Kingsland if you would like to find out more, visit the school or make a booking We will check availability and send you a booking form. This should be completed and returned with a 10% deposit. Invoices must be paid at least 10 days before the booking – unfortunately, we cannot accept cash on the night or ‘pay as you go’.
Many events will need extra time before or after to set up and clear up. Please ensure that you include this in the time you book. The premises must be left clean and tidy after use.
Please note that we are a non-smoking school, and that no food or drink may be taken into the Sports Hall or Gymnasium. Refreshments should only be served in the Dining Hall unless alternative arrangements have been made.
